Horween Shell Cordovan
Valued for its durability and scarcity, Shell cordovan will last many lifetimes and develop an amazing patina over time. The wallets are made using the reverse side of the shell. The leather comes from the rump of a horse and is extremely dense and durable. Some of the reverse shell cordovan will come with a stamp from the tannery. Other pieces will have a splattered look. Shell cordovan is dyed by hand and each piece has its own unique characteristics.
Reverse black has a green color
Reverse cognac is more of a natural color
Reverse burgundy has a brownish red color
Mitchell wallet in reverse (black) Shell
MItchell is a great, great wallet design; minimal but with a capacity that does not feel at all restrictive. Getting one in a Horween Shell (at a reasonable price!) is like striking gold.
